Vitamin K2 (Menaquinones, MK) plays an important role in bone and cardiovascular health. The activity of vitamin K2 is related to the length of the side chain. The longer the side chain, the better the absorption, the higher the biological activity, and the longer the time in the blood. Vitamin K2 (MK-7) is the most unique of the vitamin K2 family with highest bioavailability. It has a long half-life in the blood after oral intake, so it can play its benefits in a longer period of time.

 

Vitamin K2, especially the long-chain vitamin K2 in the form of MK-7, is recognized as a high-quality natural vitamin K2.In 2008,the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA) has published a positive scientific opinion on vitamin K2, MK-7 from natto as a dietarysupplement and food ingredient.
