Grape Skin Extract is a natural substance derived from the skin of grapes, and it has gained popularity in recent years for its potential health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties.
1.Antioxidation
Studies have found that anthocyanins in grape skin are mainly antioxidative in three ways: one is to inhibit or remove free radicals. Second, strengthen the antioxidant enzyme system. Third, it is complexed with metal.
2.Anti-mutagenesis
Grape anthocyanins had a strong inhibitory effect on the micronucleus cells of polychromatics induced by cyclophosvnamide (CTX), increased GST activity and GSH content in liver, and significantly inhibited the TA97 and TA98 reverting mutations induced by chemical mutagens. Therefore, anthocyanins of grape skin have anti-mutagenicity.
3.Lowering blood lipids and blood sugar
Grape anthocyanins significantly inhibited the increase of glutamate-oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) and glutamate-pyroglucose transaminase (GPT) in serum, and also inhibited the increase of thiobarbituric acid (TBA) reactants in serum, TBA reactants in liver and oxidized lipoproteins in infected mice. It has a strong effect on reducing blood lipids and blood sugar.
4.Delay aging and inhibit senile dementia
Grape anthocyanins can reduce glutamic oxalacetic transaminase, alanine transaminase, triglyceride and total cholesterol in mouse liver serum, thereby preventing liver dysfunction caused by aging. Grape anthocyanins can inhibit the content of βA4 in the hippocampus of mouse, and the formation of βA4 is closely related to the decline of learning ability, memory and cognitive ability of mice. Therefore, the antioxidant activity of grape anthocyanins and the ability to prevent the formation of βA4 are the main reasons for inhibiting aging and dementia.
